Oliver Callan Comedian and creator of comedy satire
Oliver Callan is one Ireland’s leading comedians and has shot to fame through his repertoire of impersonations, ranging from Taoiseach Enda Kenny to Barack Obama.
The 30-year-old Irish satirist from Inniskeen in Co. Monaghan has gained a formidable reputation for the hugely entertaining sell-out live shows he’s performed across Ireland.
Oliver was the voice behind “Nob Nation” on 2FM’s Gerry Ryan Show and can now be heard on RTE Radio One’s “Green Tea” on Saturday mornings.
“Nob Nation” broke new ground on Irish radio, being the first comedy series on RTE radio for over 15 years, since the end of Dermot Morgan’s Scrap Saturday in 1991.
Morgan went on to star as Father Ted in the Channel Four hit series of the same name in the 1990s.
Callan’s new RTE One satirical sketch series “Green Tea” is currently Ireland’s most listened to comedy show and is consistently Ireland’s number one podcast on the itunes network.
Oliver has been a staple feature on Irish television including the world’s longest running chat show The Late Late Show, and is now the resident comedian on The Saturday Night Show with Brendan O’Connor.
