Gary Lineker OBE
English Soccer Legend and BBC Sports Presenter

During his playing career, which spanned from 1976-1994, Gary Lineker, OBE, was one of the best-known and widely admired soccer players in the world. When Gary retired from the game he took to sport related presenting. His work for the BBC and Radio, included the coverage of the Atlanta Olympic Games.

Gary has developed various presentations drawn from his own experience as a world-class footballer and Captain of the England soccer team. His topics include, Motivation, Teamwork and Leadership. With his sound knowledge of these subjects he can adapt his presentations to suit any corporate event.

In an international glittering career that took him as far as Spain and Japan, Gary has played for Tottenham, Everton, Leicester City FC, Barcelona FC, Nagoya Grampus 8 FC and was in the England team for 9 years. Gary captained the England side from 1990-92 and his goal strike rate of 48 goals for his country places him second on the all-time list behind Bobby Charlton.

Gary has received much recognition throughout his outstanding football career. He was awarded PFA Footballer of the Year in 1986. Amongst others the Football Writer's Association named him Player of the Year and he received Runner-up European Footballer of the Year. In 1990 Gary won the FIFA Fair Play award and his high strike rate won him the Golden Boot Award as Top Scorer in the 1986 World Cup. In 1992 he received his OBE.

He devised the screenplay for 'All In The Game' produced as a drama for ITV and currently he is a team captain in the popular TV quiz show 'They Think It's All Over'. Recently Gary travelled to a number of European cities to promote an anti-smoking campaign called 'Smoke Free 2003' for a leading health organisation.

His BBC Television work has included a roving reporter role at the Atlanta Olympic games, the acclaimed ‘Golden Boots’ series and as a presenter of ‘Football Focus’. Gary is now lead presenter on Match of the Day Live and he is also the face of the extremely popular and successful advertising campaign for Walkers Crisps. A charismatic and popular personality, Gary is widely recognised and admired world-wide. An entertaining and experienced speaker he is highly sought-after.
